Thompson Hunting Lodge is owned and operated by Chip Thompson and his wife, Mendi — fourth-generation cattle ranchers who have made their living farming and ranching this South Texas land. What began as a family’s love of the land grew into one of the most welcoming guided hunting experiences in Texas.
Chip grew up living off this ground — fourth generation on the same land — with a lifetime of hunting and ranching behind him. That knowledge of every creek bed, every sendero, and every place the big bucks bed down before sunrise is what sets a Thompson hunt apart.
Today, the lodge hosts hunters from across the country, but the spirit remains the same: you arrive as a stranger, and you leave as family.

Our 4,800 sq ft lodge offers 13 rooms and 32 beds — 2 to 3 beds per room, each with its own bathroom and shower. Hearty home-cooked meals, a roaring fire, and stories that last a lifetime.
